Visit Dandeli began as a family-run hospitality venture in the little forest town of Joida, on the banks of the Kali River. What started with a handful of guest cottages has grown into a full-service Dandeli travel operator - but we still run it like a home. Over 12 years and 100+ organised tours, we have hosted students, honeymooners, families and corporate teams, and we personally look after every booking end to end.
We are not a booking portal. We are the people who live here, know every rapid on the river, every trail in the jungle and every resort worth staying in. When you book with us, you talk directly to the team on the ground - not a call centre - so your itinerary, transport and activities are planned by someone who knows Dandeli by name.
Because we manage stays ourselves, the resorts we recommend are the ones we inspect personally: clean cottages, hot water that actually runs, hygienic kitchens and responsible activity operators. Safety comes first on every trip - certified guides, checked equipment and clear briefings before any adventure.

Wildlife & the Kali Tiger Reserve
Dandeli is more than an adventure hub - it sits inside the Kali Tiger Reserve, part of the Western Ghats, one of the world's most biodiverse regions. The forest here shelters the elusive Black Panther, tigers, leopards, Great Hornbills and the Malabar Giant Squirrel, along with hundreds of bird and butterfly species that make it a paradise for wildlife photographers.
The best sightings happen on morning safaris between November and February, when the forest is cooler and animals are most active. Our guides are locals who grew up around this jungle and read its signs naturally - they know the best trails, the watering holes and how to observe wildlife without disturbing it.
We keep every safari small and quiet, follow forest department rules, and never bait or feed animals. It is tourism that protects the jungle - which is exactly why it stays wild, season after season.

River rafting in Dandeli is the headline act - but the Kali River and its surrounding jungle offer a full menu of adventures. Most activities run year-round (rafting peaks October to mid-June) and are included in our packages or available as add-ons.
White Water Rafting

Dandeli has two distinct faces - the white-water season and the monsoon green season. Choose the one that matches your plan.
October – Mid June (Peak Season)
The classic Dandeli season. River levels are perfect for rafting and kayaking, the weather is pleasant, and safaris are at their best. Expect the fullest resorts - book 2–3 weeks ahead for weekends.

The Western Ghats turn electric green and waterfalls roar. Rafting and most water activities pause for safety, but trekking, bird watching and pure nature time are magical - and prices are lower.

How to Reach Dandeli
Dandeli sits in the Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka, on National Highway 4A (NH-4A) between Hubballi and Goa. The drive itself is part of the experience - the last stretch winds through the Western Ghats.

Yes, absolutely. All participants are provided with life jackets (PFDs) and helmets. Our certified guides give comprehensive safety briefings and accompany every raft. The Kali River has graded sections suitable for beginners, but you must inform your guide about your swimming ability before starting.
The peak season for adventure activities like rafting and trekking is from October to mid-June. The monsoon (July-September) offers lush greenery but some water activities may be restricted. Winter (Nov-Feb) is perfect for wildlife safaris and bird watching.

Mobile network coverage is limited and intermittent in deep jungle areas. Most resorts have Wi-Fi in common areas, but speeds may be slow. We encourage visitors to embrace a "digital detox" but can direct you to spots with better reception if needed.
